April is a women-run, members-only, strictly platonic plus-one service. We accompany vetted members to weddings, dinners, the theatre and work events, so they don't have to arrive alone. We are building a small, carefully vetted panel of warm, dependable people — of all ages and backgrounds — to be those plus-ones.
Please read carefully — this is important:
This role is strictly platonic and completely non-sexual. It is NOT dating, escorting, or adult work of any kind, and applications on that basis will not be considered. It is also not care work. All bookings take place in public venues only (never private homes or hotel rooms), are arranged in advance, and are governed by clear, written expectations agreed by both sides.
What the role involves:
- Accompanying a member to a public event as their plus-one — making polite conversation, helping them feel at ease, and being good, warm company for the evening.
- Being reliable, punctual, appropriately dressed for the occasion, and discreet.
- Finishing at the agreed time. That's it.
Who we're looking for (all genders welcome, and all ages 25+):
- Warm and genuinely good with people — but also socially confident and quick to read a room.
- Considerate and steady: you put people at ease, and you're calm if plans change.
- Reliable, professional and completely trustworthy with discretion.
- Comfortable and adaptable across different social settings — from a relaxed dinner to a formal event. You don't need to already know the etiquette of any of them; we'll brief you on anything unfamiliar.
- Maturity and life experience are an asset in this role, not a drawback.
- You don't need to be posh, a certain "type", or dress a certain way — you need to be warm, dependable and genuinely good with people.
Requirements (non-negotiable — both sides are vetted):
- Enhanced DBS check (we'll guide you through it).
- Photo ID verification and a short video/screening interview.
- Two references.
- A genuine understanding that this is platonic, professional company — nothing more.
