We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Part-Time Accounts Assistant to join our team As a Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely payment of invoices. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong accounting skills and a passion for accuracy and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Process invoices, credit notes, and expenses accurately and in a timely manner
- Verify the accuracy of invoices and resolve any discrepancies
- Match invoices to purchase orders and reconcile differences
- Prepare and process payment runs, ensuring payments are made on time
- Maintain Customer/Supplier records and ensure they are up to date
- Respond to Customer/Supplier enquiries and resolve any issues or discrepancies
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including reconciliations and reporting
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate coding of expenses
- Assist with ad-hoc financial tasks as assigned
Skills
- Proficiency in using Sage accounting software. Knowledge of Pro-hire system an advantage but not essential.
- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Knowledge of accounts payable processes and best practices
- Familiarity with financial services terminology and procedures
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
