Housekeeper – Every Other Weekend (Saturday & Sunday) + Flexible Additional Hours Available During the Week
£13.48 per hour
JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this job is to support the housekeeper in maintaining the cleanliness of the home, as well as in managing the laundering of resident clothes and bedlinen etc. to a high standard. This position is offered on a 12 hours per fortnight contract, working 6 hour shifts every other Saturday and Sunday. The successful candidate will be flexible to provide additional cover on weekdays for annual leave, staff absence and support during particularly busy times.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. To ensure that all domestic duties which include dusting to the height of arms length, hoovering, shampooing carpets and the cleaning of bath and toilet areas, in designated areas, is completed to the satisfaction of the Housekeeper, on a daily basis. To ensure residents beds and mattresses are cleaned and make beds as necessary.
2. To respect the privacy of residents when entering and cleaning bedrooms.
3. To complete all tasks listed on the cleaning schedule and ensure the schedule is signed and up to date.
4. To observe Health and Safety Regulations including COSSH regulations.
5. To clean up contaminated materials e.g. Faeces and vomit; residue should be cleaned by domestic staff after the solid matter is removed by care staff.
6. Bring to the attention of the Housekeeper any deficiency in the clients’ rooms, e.g. badly hanging curtains, damaged furniture, loose or missing towel rails, toilet roll holders etc.
7. To undertake deep cleans as requested by the Housekeeper.
8. To remove dead cut flowers from clients rooms and water all plants within the home, at least once a week. Vases to be washed and returned to the COSHH cupboard.
9. Undertake laundry duties including collecting washing, wash, dry, iron and deliver back to residents within 48 hours.
10. To provide Holiday cover for colleagues.
11. To undertake other domestic duties that may be requested to maintain a good standard of cleanliness of the home
