About the Role
Join the dedicated production team at Shed Beds! As a Workshop Technician, you will play a crucial role in our bed manufacturing process, ensuring our high quality products are crafted with precision and care. Based primarily within our main workshop, this hands on position is the heartbeat of our daily production flow.
You will master the safe and precise use of essential manufacturing tools including circular saws, drills, and sanders as well as specialised equipment like spindle borers. Beyond core workshop duties, you will maintain operational efficiency by managing incoming material deliveries and supporting physical tasks across sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Machinery & Tool Operation: Safely operate power tools (circular saws, drills, sanders) and specialised machinery (spindle borers) to craft high quality products to specification.
- Production & Quality Control: Execute structured, routine production tasks with consistent focus and patience to ensure every finished item meets quality standards.
- Material Handling & Logistics: Manage the manual transport, loading, and unloading of incoming materials and deliveries to maintain workshop flow.
- Cross-Site Support: Undertake occasional physical tasks and general labor support at our sister company, One Stop Interiors, as needed.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: No prior manufacturing experience required! Shed Beds provides comprehensive, on the job training to equip you with all necessary skills.
- Physical Capability: Comfortable with manual handling and fully capable of managing the physical demands of a dynamic workshop environment.
- Mindset: Detail oriented, patient, and dependable, with the ability to maintain focus, accuracy, and motivation during repetitive, routine tasks over extended periods.
- Team Fit: A collaborative, respectful team player with an enthusiastic approach to learning new skills and contributing to a positive workplace.
