New Build Electrician Overview (Swindon,Didcot,Reading)
We are looking for a skilled and motivated New Build Electrician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out electrical installations on new residential developments, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality installations from first fix through to final completion.
Responsibilities
- Carry out first fix and second fix electrical installations on new build housing developments.
- Install wiring systems, consumer units, containment, lighting, sockets, switches, smoke alarms, and other electrical equipment in accordance with current regulations.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, site plans, and technical specifications to complete installations accurately.
- Carry out testing, inspection, and fault finding where required, ensuring installations meet BS 7671 standards.
- Work closely with site managers, supervisors, and other trades to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
- Ensure all work complies with current health and safety legislation and company procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and report any issues promptly.
- Represent the company professionally while working on client sites.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
- City & Guilds 2365, 2357, or equivalent qualifications.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
- ECS or JIB Gold Card preferred.
- Previous experience working on new build residential developments.
- Confident carrying out both first fix and second fix installations independently.
- Experience reading electrical drawings and working from site plans.
- Knowledge of current Building Regulations and electrical standards.
- Strong fault-finding skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Desirable
- 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience with domestic fire alarm systems, EV charging installations, or renewable technologies.
- Experience working on volume housing developments.

Pay: £180.00-£300.00 per day
