Overview
We’re looking for a reliable and hands-on Stores & Warehouse Operative to join our team. You’ll play an important role in ensuring products and components are safely prepared, stored, picked and moved efficiently throughout our stores and warehouse.
What you'll be doing
- Wrapping and preparing products for storage and movement.
- Scanning products into and out of the warehouse using established procedures.
- Picking components accurately against pick lists, ensuring the correct items and quantities are supplied.
- Safely moving and handling products and components throughout the stores and warehouse.
- Carrying out manual handling activities.
- Ensuring products and components are handled safely and securely to minimise damage.
- Maintaining accurate stock locations and records.
- Identifying and reporting stock discrepancies, damaged goods and shortages.
- Operating warehouse and material-handling equipment safely and in line with company procedures.
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping across the stores and warehouse.
- Following all relevant health and safety, manual handling and company procedures.
- Supporting the wider stores and warehouse team as required.
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or materials-handling environment.
- Experience of wrapping, scanning, picking and general warehouse processes.
- The ability to accurately follow pick lists, instructions and established procedures.
- An understanding of safe manual handling practices.
- The ability to safely handle products weighing up to 200kg using appropriate equipment.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Basic computer and warehouse system skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- An FLT licence is desirable.
- A reliable, dependable and safety-conscious approach to work.
- A practical, hands-on attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to changing workload requirements.
- A commitment to maintaining a clean, tidy and organised working environment.
- A positive and professional attitude towards colleagues and day-to-day activities.
