Job Title: Housekeeper

About the Role:
We are looking for a reliable and caring Housekeeper to join our team within a mental health care home setting. You will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.
You will ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are consistently maintained in line with CQC, Health and Safety Executive (HSE), and Environmental Health Officer (EHO) requirements.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Clean and sanitise bedrooms, communal areas, bathrooms, toilets, furnishings, and fixtures.
- Ensure all cleaning is carried out in line with infection control procedures and company policies.
- Carry out deep cleaning duties as required, including after room vacancies, discharges, or transfers.
- Respond promptly to emergency cleaning situations when incidents occur.
- Safely use and maintain cleaning equipment, reporting any faults or issues immediately.
- Remove waste from the building daily in accordance with infection control and waste disposal procedures.
- Report any damage, wear and tear, or maintenance issues to the appropriate person.
- Maintain a safe working environment by following all health and safety procedures at all times.
- Work in line with the Data Protection Act, maintaining strict confidentiality regarding residents, staff, and the service.
- Attend training and development sessions as required to support your role and professional growth.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to support the smooth running of the service.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the line manager.
