Stock & Jewellery Inventory Manager Full-time | Monday–Friday
Location: Hatton Garden, London
About Berganza
Berganza is one of the world's leading specialists in antique and vintage jewellery. Established in 1985, we curate and sell exceptional historic jewels dating from the Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian, Art Deco and Mid-Century periods. Every piece we acquire is chosen for its rarity, craftsmanship, historical significance and quality.
Working from our London showroom in the heart of Hatton Garden, we handle some of the world's finest antique jewellery, gemstones and collector's pieces. We are looking for an organised, meticulous and trustworthy Stock & Jewellery Inventory Manager to become a key member of our team.
This is a unique opportunity to work with extraordinary historic jewellery while playing a central role in the management, movement and documentation of one of Europe's most important antique jewellery collections.
The Role:
The Stock & Jewellery Inventory Manager will be responsible for overseeing the accurate handling, documentation, storage and movement of Berganza's jewellery and gemstone inventory.
This role requires exceptional organisational skills, outstanding attention to detail and the highest levels of discretion. You will work closely with the Managing Director, gemmologists, photographers, restorers and sales specialists to ensure every piece is accurately documented, securely managed and prepared for sale, exhibition and certification.
No two days are the same. One day you may be receiving a newly acquired Victorian diamond ring from auction, preparing rare gemstones for laboratory certification or coordinating a shipment to an international exhibition. The next, you could be conducting stock audits, documenting acquisitions or selecting replacement diamonds for an antique restoration.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management
- Maintain highly accurate inventory records for all jewellery, gemstones and related stock.
- Receive, inspect and accurately record new acquisitions from auctions, dealers and private sellers.
- Ensure every item is correctly labelled, photographed, catalogued and entered into Berganza's internal stock management system.

- Carry out regular inventory audits and stock reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies quickly and accurately.
- Maintain detailed movement records for every item throughout its lifecycle.
Jewellery Handling & Logistics
- Coordinate the movement of jewellery between our showroom, photography studio, workshops, exhibitions and gemmological laboratories.
- Prepare jewellery for photography, catalogue production, exhibitions, restoration, client viewings and sale.

Shipping & Logistics
- Arrange secure domestic and international shipments using approved specialist couriers.

- Assist with the identification and documentation of diamonds and coloured gemstones.
- Carry out preliminary gemstone assessments to support cataloguing and laboratory submissions.
- Coordinate submissions to recognised gemmological laboratories, including GIA, SSEF, Gübelin and other internationally recognised institutions.
- Maintain accurate records of laboratory submissions, certificates and reports.
- Ensure gemstone documentation is correctly linked to inventory records.
Diamond & Gemstone Sorting
- Select and match diamonds and coloured gemstones for antique jewellery repairs and restoration.
- Source stones appropriate in cut, colour, clarity, size and historical period.
- Work closely with workshops and restorers to maintain authenticity and historical accuracy.
