Purpose of the role
The Senior Health and Wellbeing Manager is a newly created strategic leadership role, reporting to the Head of Programmes and Impact. The post provides strategic oversight of the Health and Wellbeing function, supporting the operational delivery led by the Health and Wellbeing Manager and wider team.
Our Health and Wellbeing programmes are rooted in local need and focused on creating meaningful opportunities for people across Salford to improve their health, wellbeing and quality of life.
The role will provide strategic leadership across programme development, partnerships and performance, while supporting the Health and Wellbeing Manager in the day-to-day operational management of services, ensuring high-quality delivery, compliance and positive outcomes across all funded activity.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation and quality assurance of all Health and Wellbeing programmes, ensuring each programme meets the strategic priorities of Foundation 92 and individual funder/partner requirements.
- Provide leadership, guidance and support to the Health and Wellbeing Manager, empowering them to lead the operational delivery of programmes and the day-to-day management of staff.
- Take the lead in designing and implementing the Salford City FC wellbeing hub as part of the Premier League Fans Fund.
- Drive continuous improvement through evaluation and impact measurement, using data to strengthen programme quality and outcomes.
- Ensure effective programme management and compliance, meeting contractual obligations, KPIs and reporting requirements across all funded activities.
- Support funding sustainability and growth, contributing to funding bids, tenders and partnership proposals linked to Health and Wellbeing programmes.
- Work collaboratively with the wider Foundation 92 team to ensure joined-up delivery and consistent quality standards.
- Oversee data collection, monitoring and impact reporting systems, ensuring accuracy, consistency and effective use across teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, local authorities, community organisations, funders and corporate businesses.
- Represent Foundation 92 at partnership meetings, networks and community events.
- Promote a positive, collaborative culture across the team, ensuring staff are motivated, supported and high-performing.

- Line management responsibility for the Health and Wellbeing Manager, with strategic oversight of the wider Health and Wellbeing team through that management structure
- Working closely with: Media and Communications, Senior Leadership Team, partner organisations
Person specification
Essential
- Significant experience managing Health and Wellbeing programmes
- Proven experience leading and developing staff and teams
- Strong understanding of the challenges facing the community within Health and Wellbeing
- Experience working to KPIs, contracts and funding outcomes
- Strong organisational, project management and data management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience building and managing external partnerships
- Commitment to safeguarding and equality, diversity and inclusion
Desirable
- Experience working within a Sport, Health and Wellbeing or social impact organisation
- Experience managing or contributing to funded projects or funding bids
- Experience delivering programmes across multiple settings or sites

- Salary: £32,000.00 - £38,000.00
