CLS Contract Labour Solutions are supporting our award-winning, family-run home builder as their business continues to grow. They are looking for an Estimator to join their team, someone with strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail to strengthen their estimating team.
Salary: £55,000 to £75,000 DOE
You will play a key role in ensuring projects are accurately assessed and costed from pre-construction through to completion. You will prepare cost appraisals, produce detailed take-offs and support tender submissions. You will work closely with the Head of Commercial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce cost appraisals for new land opportunities
- Carry out detailed take-offs and abstract them into feasibilities and cost plans
- Review drawings and project specifications to prepare detailed estimates and budgets covering materials, labour and plant
- Support tender submissions by preparing pricing information, bid proposals and associated documentation
- Collaborate with Land, Technical and Design teams to gather the information required for accurate estimating
- Maintain and update cost databases and estimating records
- Provide wider support to the team across pre-construction and estimating activities as required
About You
- Bachelor's degree, BTEC Diploma, or currently studying towards a construction-related qualification
- Experience producing take-offs within new-build housing is essential
- Proficient in cost estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- A proactive attitude and willingness to continue developing skills in estimating
Desirable Experience:
As part of the role, you will also be involved in tender work. Experience of tendering with non-housing projects and general construction would therefore be desirable, although it is not essential.
