About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Marketing and Fundraising Manager to join our team. This is a varied and exciting role, offering the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. The role is split 50/50 between marketing and fundraising, requiring a versatile individual with a passion for both areas with line management of one team member.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising (50%):
· Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to generate income from a variety of sources, including individual donors, legacies, trusts, foundations, corporate partnerships, and community events.
· Research and identify potential funding opportunities and prepare compelling grant funding applications.
· Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential donors.
· Organise and manage fundraising events, such as our summer fete, Christmas events, open gardens and other sponsored activities.
· Monitor and report on fundraising performance against targets.
· Manage donor databases and ensure accurate record-keeping.
· Explore and develop new fundraising initiatives and income streams.
Marketing (50%):
· Develop and implement a marketing strategy to raise awareness of The Charlotte Straker Project and its services.
· Manage the organisation's website and social media presence, creating engaging content and monitoring performance. Supporting the creation of engaging content and monitoring performance
· Produce marketing materials, such as brochures, banners, leaflets, and newsletters.
· Manage media relations, including writing press releases and responding to media enquiries.
· Organise and attend events to promote the organisation.
· Conduct market research to identify target audiences and inform marketing activities.
· Monitor and report on marketing performance against objectives.
· Maintain the organisation's brand identity and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in both fundraising and marketing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creative and innovative thinker, with a passion for developing new ideas.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience of using a Client Relationship Management System (CRM)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter.
- Experience of using Mailchimp, and a graphic design programme such as Canva.
- A commitment to the values and mission of The Charlotte Straker Project.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Experience or understanding of the UK care sector.
- Experience or understanding of a not-for-profit organisation.
- Relevant marketing or fundraising qualifications.
