About the Opportunity
Open Source One Ltd (OS1) is expanding its Enforcement Agent network and is looking for professional, motivated individuals to join us on a self-employed basis.
We are currently recruiting across:
London & Greater London | Midlands | North of England | Wales | Devon | Cornwall
We welcome applications from both experienced Certificated Enforcement Agents and individuals looking to start a completely new career as a Trainee Enforcement Agent.
No previous enforcement experience is required for trainee applicants.
For suitable candidates, training, mentoring and ongoing support will be provided to help you develop the knowledge and skills required to work towards becoming a Certificated Enforcement Agent.
The Role
As an Enforcement Agent, you will work independently within an allocated geographical area, attending cases and engaging professionally with members of the public.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Attending allocated cases within your working area
- Engaging professionally and respectfully with members of the public
- Managing and prioritising your own workload
- Maintaining accurate and timely case records
- Working in accordance with relevant legislation and industry standards
- Following company procedures and operational requirements
- Liaising with operational and support teams
- Remaining calm and professional when dealing with challenging or sensitive situations
Trainee Enforcement Agents – Training & Qualification
If you are considering a career change but have never worked within enforcement before, we would still like to hear from you.
No previous enforcement experience is required.
Trainee Enforcement Agents are required to complete the NVQ Level 2 in Taking Control of Goods, which has a course cost of £250 payable by the candidate.
Candidates should also be aware that the training, qualification and certification process can take up to approximately 3 months before you are fully qualified for the role.
However, you will not be left to navigate this process alone.
During this period, OS1 provides ongoing:
- Training and mentoring
- Practical support
- On-the-road training and shadowing
- Opportunities to work alongside experienced Enforcement Agents
- Guidance throughout the qualification and certification process
- Ongoing contact and support from the team
The practical on-the-road element is designed to give you exposure to the day-to-day role, help you understand how cases are managed and allow you to develop your confidence and knowledge while progressing towards qualification.
Our aim is to provide a supported pathway from Trainee Enforcement Agent through to becoming a Certificated Enforcement Agent.
We are looking for individuals with the right attitude, professionalism, resilience and willingness to learn.
Transferable experience from backgrounds including the Armed Forces, security, customer service, collections, field-based roles and other public-facing professions may be beneficial but is not essential.
Experienced Enforcement Agents
We are also looking for Certificated Enforcement Agents who are interested in a new self-employed opportunity.
Experienced applicants should provide details of their current Enforcement Agent Certificate and relevant industry experience when applying.
Essential Requirements
To be considered, applicants must:
- Hold a full UK driving licence – ESSENTIAL
- Have access to their own reliable vehicle – ESSENTIAL
- Have no County Court Judgments (CCJs)
- Have no criminal convictions
- Be available for a minimum of 4 days per week
- Be willing to travel throughout their allocated working area
- Be professional, reliable and self-motivated
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be confident working independently
- Have good organisation and time-management skills
- Be comfortable using mobile technology and digital systems
- Be able to remain calm and professional in challenging situations

Working Pattern
This is a self-employed, field-based opportunity.
We require agents to be available for a minimum of 4 days per week. Flexibility around working hours will be required depending on case allocation and operational requirements.
