Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our team based at Diddimix in the centre of Leicester. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial driving and mechanical knowledge, enabling them to operate and maintain vehicles efficiently. This role involves transporting goods safely and on time, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. You will be required to drive 26ton and 18ton mixers.
Duties
- Operate lorries in a safe and responsible manner while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition, reporting any mechanical issues as necessary.
- Safely Load and unload Concrete on customer sites.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, and any incidents that occur during transport.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues that may arise.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards while on the road and at delivery sites.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driving licence (C+E) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to dig into problems and find solutions quickly when faced with challenges on the road or at delivery sites.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, colleagues, and management.
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
