Job Description:
We are looking for a Site Manager to oversee a project at Gatwick Airport for an immediate start to the end of August 2026. This will be working nights overseeing hot works and welding. Shift is 6pm - 4am
Overview
The scope of works for the project is bearing replacement, to include:
- Removal (and later reinstatement) of concrete upstand on Level 30 to enable construction of external jacking plates
- Installation of steel plates and in-situ welding to existing structures
- Install, and remove temporary lateral restraints at bearing heads (6 No. guided, 6 No. fixed) to facilitate bearing replacement.
- Bridge jacking
- Installation of bearings
The site manager’s key responsibilities will be for arranging the airside permits, deliveries and access requirements, and managing adherence to the ITP and RAMS, ensuring the appropriate records are taken. They will be supported by the client remotely and we will have a mixture of our own team and sub-contracted teams on site at various points
Duties
- Oversee daily site operations and ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely project completion.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively to meet deadlines.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues that arise.
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily reports and incident logs.
- Facilitate communication between the project team and upper management regarding project status and challenges.
- Implement best practices in site management to improve efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Site Manager or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D software for effective project planning and execution.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative work environment.
- A solid understanding of health and safety regulations within the construction sector.
- Relevant qualifications in construction management or a related field are preferred but not essential.
