Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our small established warehouse team in Axminster.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the day to day operations of the warehouse such as order processing, inventory management, returns processing, materials handling, unloading shipping containers. This position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities to further develop your skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch in accordance with company standards
- Prepare deliveries by ensuring proper packaging and labelling
- Unloading Shipping Containers, moving stock by hand or with machines
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment at all times
- Collaborate with team members to optimise processes
- Identify and suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential
- Experience in a warehouse environment, preferably with order fulfillment, picking & packing
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate picking, packing, and shipping of orders
- Ability to work alone using your initiative and able to work as part of a team
- Good understanding of warehouse processes including goods in/out, stock management and dispatch
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Basic IT knowledge
- Fit & healthy, physical fitness is essential for this role to ensure you can safely manage heavy lifting, repetitive manual labour and maintain high energy levels during active shifts.
Nice to have
- IT literate with good knowledge of Google Workspace and Warehouse Management Software
- Counterbalance Forklift Truck License
- Knowledge of material handling techniques and best practices
Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
