I started out in the motor trade straight from school, working at a Vauxhall dealership. In 2010, I launched a small independent garage in Lincoln called Vauxalist – just me, one ramp, and a clear goal: to build an automotive group that puts people first, delivers exceptional service, and never stops evolving.
That one-man band has grown into the Dack Group, now operating across Lincoln, Northampton, and Coventry, with 80+ people working across:
- Service Departments
- A Vehicle Bodyshop
- A Ford Service Centre & Used Car Dealership
- Coachbuild & Van Conversions
- New & Used Van Sales
- Van Rental
These departments operate across our group brands:
Dack Motor Group, Central Garage Ford, and Synergy Autocentres.
We’re not a corporate PLC, and we’re proud of that. We’re privately owned, close-knit, and led by people who still roll up their sleeves. We’re also IT-led, and we embrace technology and change to stay ahead – even when it’s uncomfortable.

We are looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join our growing team at Dack Service Ltd in Lincoln.
As one of Lincoln's leading independent service and repair centres, we work on virtually every vehicle manufacturer, giving our technicians the opportunity to develop their skills across a wide range of makes and models rather than being restricted to a single franchise.
You'll be joining a modern, fully equipped workshop with dealer-level diagnostic equipment, access to the latest manufacturer technical information, and a team of experienced technicians committed to delivering outstanding workmanship and customer service.

About the Role
As a Vehicle Technician, you'll play a key role in delivering the high standards our customers expect.
You'll be responsible for:
✔ Servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs on a wide range of vehicle manufacturers
✔ Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults using the latest dealer-level diagnostic equipment
✔ Completing repairs safely, efficiently and to manufacturer standards
✔ Carrying out Vehicle Health Checks (VVHC) and accurately reporting findings
✔ Working closely with our Service Advisors to deliver an outstanding customer experience
✔ Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
✔ Keeping your technical knowledge up to date through continuous training
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Vehicle Technician
- Strong servicing, repair and diagnostic experience
- High attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
- Positive team player with a professional attitude
- Full UK Driving Licence
