Position: Work Planner (Admin and Clerical)

Contract Duration: 3+ Months (Temporary contract)

Pay Rate: PAYE: £18.26 per hour
What We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced Repairs Work Planner who has worked in social housing, property repairs or maintenance.
You should have experience:
- Planning and scheduling repair jobs
- Allocating work to tradespeople, technicians and contractors
- Working with a trade-based workforce
- Using IT systems to manage and track repairs
- Dealing with tenants, customers and contractors
- Managing urgent and emergency repairs
- Working to deadlines and changing priorities
- Understanding property maintenance and construction terminology
- Following health and safety procedures
- Using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Main Responsibilities
You will:
- Plan and schedule daily repair jobs
- Allocate jobs to the correct tradesperson or contractor
- Reallocate work when staff are absent or priorities change
- Make sure urgent and emergency repairs are dealt with on time
- Track jobs and make sure work is completed within target times
- Update repair information on the computer system
- Speak with operatives, supervisors, contractors and customers
- Deal with repair queries and complaints
- Chase outstanding jobs
- Order materials and raise purchase orders when required
- Liaise with suppliers
- Prepare basic reports and analyse repair information
- Support the Repairs Supervisor with daily planning
- Keep accurate records
- Follow health and safety procedures
Person Specification
Essential
- Previous social housing experience
- Experience in property repairs/maintenance
- Previous work planning or repairs planning experience
- Experience coordinating tradespeople or technicians
- Good IT skills, especially Excel, Word and Outlook
- Good understanding of property repairs and construction
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Well organised and able to manage multiple jobs
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Able to deal with urgent and emergency repairs
- Good English and numeracy skills
- Experience ordering materials or raising purchase orders is required
- Able to work as part of a team
Desirable
- NVQ Level 3, ONC or similar construction/trade qualification
- Experience using housing repairs management systems
- Previous local authority/council experience
- Experience dealing with tenants and leaseholders
Important: Candidates must be able to work 4 days per week on-site in Cambridge, with some hybrid working depending on service requirements.
