Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Scaffolder to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, maintaining, and dismantling scaffolding structures on various sites, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Responsibilities
- Erect, alter, and dismantle scaffolding structures in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Inspect scaffolding regularly for stability and safety, making adjustments as necessary.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications related to scaffolding layouts.
- Use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during assembly and disassembly processes.
- Collaborate with other trades such as carpenters, roofers, electricians, and masons to facilitate smooth workflow on site.
- Maintain a clean work area, ensuring all scaffolding materials are stored securely when not in use.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations at all times, including wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Assist with fabrication tasks as needed, including cutting and modifying scaffold components.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in scaffolding or related construction roles.
- Knowledge of carpentry, roofing, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work, or construction painting is advantageous.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in scaffolding assembly.
- Ability to read technical drawings and interpret specifications accurately.
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures relevant to working at height.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications such as CISRS (Construction Industry Scaffolders Record Scheme) card are highly desirable.
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks including lifting heavy materials and working at height in various weather conditions.
