We’re looking for practical, hands-on people to join a busy manufacturing team in Swadlincote, producing timber roof structures for construction projects across the UK.
You don’t need years of manufacturing experience. If you’ve worked in construction, carpentry, joinery, furniture assembly, roofing, woodworking, warehouse production, or simply have strong practical skills and are confident using tools, we want to hear from you.
What’s on Offer?
- £13.71 per hour on the day shift
- £16.58 per hour for weekday overtime
- £19.90 per hour for Saturday overtime
- £26.54 per hour for Sunday overtime
- Monthly performance bonus once fully trained
- Regular Monday–Friday working hours
- Overtime available if you want to increase your earnings
- 2 weeks’ full training provided
- Opportunity to move onto a permanent contract following a successful probation period

Choose Your Shift
Day Shift:Monday to Friday — 6:00am to 2:55pm
Afternoon Shift:Monday to Friday — 3:00pm to 11:00pm
Whether you prefer early starts or a later shift, there’s an option to suit you.
What Will You Be Doing?
You’ll be part of a production team manufacturing timber roof components.
Your day-to-day work will include:
- Building and assembling timber roof structures
- Measuring and marking timber accurately
- Cutting materials to the required sizes
- Using nail guns, saws and other power tools
- Using hand tools and basic workshop equipment
- Following technical drawings and production specifications
- Checking finished products for quality and accuracy
- Working safely and keeping your workstation organised
- Working as part of a team to meet daily production targets
This is a hands-on role — you’ll be working with tools and materials throughout the day rather than sitting at a desk.

Previous timber manufacturing experience is useful, but it isn’t essential.

- Can follow instructions and technical drawings
- Are physically comfortable with a hands-on job
- Take pride in producing quality work
- Are reliable and punctual
- Are happy working in a busy production environment
What Happens at the Interview?
The recruitment process is designed to be quick and straightforward.
As part of the interview, you’ll complete a simple tape-measure test, including basic mm-to-cm conversions.
Don’t worry if you’re a little rusty — we’re looking for people with practical ability, not mathematicians!
If successful, you could start as soon as the next working day.
Training Provided
You’ll receive 2 weeks of training to learn the production process, equipment and required standards.
So even if you have relevant practical experience but haven’t worked specifically with timber roof structures before, you can learn the job properly.
Before You Start
You will need:
- Safety boots
- Hi-vis vest
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test on your first day
- Good attendance and reliability
