Kitchen Supervisor – Loco Lime Winchester
£30,000-£35,000 per year | Full-time (4 days on 3 days off) | New opening at Helch Market
Loco Lime is opening at Helch Market, Winchester’s newest indoor street food market, and we’re looking for a hands-on Kitchen Supervisor to lead the kitchen from day one.
This is a new opening role with real ownership. You’ll be responsible for building the standards, rhythm, and culture of the kitchen, while leading a small team through prep, service, stock, food safety, ordering, rotas, and day-to-day organisation.
We’re a chef-led Mexican-inspired street food brand, but this role is about more than cooking. We need someone who can lead from the front, keep standards consistent, support the team, and run a clean, organised, high-energy kitchen.
This would suit a strong Senior Chef, Kitchen Supervisor, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager who is ready to take ownership of a site and grow with a fast-moving brand.
What you’ll get
- £32,000-£35,000 per year
- Full-time role
- 4 days on, 3 days off
- Free staff meal on shift
- Staff discounts (Food, Bar and other discounts)
- The chance to lead a new opening at Helch Market, Winchester
- Direct support from the founders and senior team
- Clear systems, training, and support
- Real progression as Loco Lime grows
- Opportunity to move into future multi-site leadership as we expand
The role
As Kitchen Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen at our new Winchester site.
You’ll work closely with the founders and senior team to make sure the kitchen runs smoothly, the food is consistent, stock is controlled, budgets are monitored, and the team is trained, organised, and supported.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll be managing the kitchen, but you’ll also be involved in prep, service, close-down, and leading by example during busy periods.
What you’ll do
- Lead the kitchen team during prep and service
- Keep food quality, presentation, portioning, and consistency to spec
- Manage prep levels, stock levels, ordering, and supplier communication
- Control wastage, portion control, and food costs in line with company targets
- Help manage kitchen budgets, labour, rotas, and daily team organisation
- Train, support, and develop chefs and team members
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, allergens, and cleanliness
- Keep the kitchen running smoothly during busy services
- Work with the founders and senior team to improve systems, standards, and site performance.
- Help build a strong opening team and positive kitchen culture
We’d like you to bring:
- Experience in a busy kitchen or food operation
- A chef background with good kitchen standards
- Confidence leading a section, shift, or small team
- A clean, organised, hands-on approach
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and allergens
- Reliability, maturity, and pride in your work
- Ability to stay calm and lead during busy periods
We can support and train you on:
- Loco Lime systems and recipes
- Ordering and supplier processes
- Stock control, wastage, and food cost tracking
- Rotas, labour control, and budgeting
- Team training and site launch processes
You do not need Mexican food experience as we can train the menu. What matters most is leadership potential, organisation, consistency, cleanliness, cost awareness, and attitude.
Due to high demand, we may not be able to reply to everyone, but we truly appreciate your interest in joining our journey.
