We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Groundworker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in various construction and maintenance projects, ensuring that all groundwork is completed to the highest standards. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety on site.
Responsibilities
- Carry out excavation and backfilling tasks as directed by site supervisors.
- Assist in the installation of drainage systems, foundations, and other essential groundwork.
- Operate hand tools and machinery safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all materials are stored correctly.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times to minimise risks on site.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects within deadlines.
- Report any issues or concerns to supervisors promptly.
- To be able to read plans and understand levels etc.
Requirements
- Previous experience in groundwork or a related field is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to operate basic construction machinery is advantageous.
- Strong physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy materials as required.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- A valid CSCS card is desirable but not mandatory; training can be provided for the right candidate.
- A commitment to adhering to health and safety protocols on site.
