As an Agency Chemotherapy Nurse, you'll work across a variety of healthcare settings, providing safe, high-quality chemotherapy treatments while supporting patients and their families throughout their cancer journey. Every shift is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference.
What You'll Be Doing
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other systemic anti-cancer treatments safely and in line with local policies.
- Assess patients before, during, and after treatment, ensuring they are fit to receive therapy.
- Monitor patients for side effects and adverse reactions, responding promptly and appropriately.
- Cannulate and manage central venous access devices, including PICC lines, Hickman lines, and Port-a-Caths.
- Provide clear information, reassurance, and emotional support to patients and their loved ones.
- Accurately document assessments, treatments, and patient outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver outstanding patient care.
- Maintain high standards of infection prevention, patient safety, and clinical governance.
- Stay up to date with current oncology practices, policies, and professional development.
What We're Looking For
- Registered Nurse (NMC Registered Adult Nurse).
- Current Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) or chemotherapy administration qualification.
- Previous experience administering chemotherapy in an acute or community setting.
- Competence in venepuncture, cannulation, and central line management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A caring, empathetic, and patient-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently while adapting quickly to different clinical environments.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of care.
