Assistant Manager – Café 53, TetburyAn exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional to help lead and grow an independent café.
Café 53 is a busy, independent bistro café in the heart of Tetbury, known for excellent food, outstanding coffee and friendly, professional service.
We’re looking for an experienced, reliable and hands-on Assistant Manager to join our team and play an important role in the continued growth of the business.
Working closely with the manager and owner, you’ll help oversee the day-to-day running of the café, lead a team of around six staff and help grow our ever-increasing social media presence.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading, motivating and supporting the team
- Acting as Manager on Duty when required
- Training and developing team members
- Delivering consistently excellent customer service
- Managing daily service, staffing and breaks
- Opening and closing the café
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety and hygiene
- Supporting stock control, ordering and supplier management
- Helping drive sales, reduce waste and achieve labour targets
- Handling customer issues professionally
- Completing daily operational checks and cash reconciliation
- Playing an active role in growing Café 53’s social media presence
- Creating and supporting engaging content that showcases our food, coffee, team and business
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Has a minimum of 2 years’ supervisory or management experience in hospitality
- Has experience in a café, restaurant, coffee shop or bistro
- Is barista trained and confident making quality coffee
- Is reliable, dependable and punctual
- Is hardworking and leads by example
- Is confident managing and motivating a team
- Has excellent customer service and organisational skills
- Can remain calm and professional under pressure
- Is hands-on and happy to get stuck in
- Has a genuine interest in helping a business grow
- Is confident using social media and enjoys creating content
- Is available to work weekends and busy periods
Experience with EPOS systems, stock control, ordering, rotas and labour costs would be an advantage.
