The Penrith Chippie Group is a well-established, family-run business comprising Angel Lane Chippie, Sandgate Chippie, and two mobile fish and chip vans. Based in Penrith, our success is built on a happy, professional, and highly productive team.
Due to retirement and our continued growth and popularity, we are looking to welcome a new Shift Manager/Frier / Cook to help us maintain our high standards and support the team through our next exciting chapter.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone passionate about food, service, and teamwork. You will lead by example, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of our busy outlets, maintaining quality, and delivering excellent customer service in a fast paced environment.
This role includes working across multiple locations in Penrith and may require flexibility with shift patterns.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and fry food to a high standard
- Serve customers efficiently and professionally
- Oversee food hygiene, cleanliness, and health and safety practices
- Maintain high customer service standards across the business
- Handle opening/closing procedures as needed
- Report to senior management on shift performance and issues
- Lead your team in to achieving a smooth running shift
What We’re Looking For
- Ability to multitask and work well in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Attention to hygiene, detail, and food safety
- Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential as we do chippie van events)
- Must live within 30 minutes of Penrith or be relocating locally
- Must speak fluent English
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK
- Prior experience in hospitality, catering, or food retail is desirable
