Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Joiner specialising in fire door installation and remedials to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fitting, repairing, and maintaining fire doors across various sites, ensuring compliance with safety standards and building regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in carpentry and construction to contribute to vital safety projects within the industry. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of construction processes and be capable of working independently or as part of a team.
Duties
- Install, repair, and remediate fire doors in accordance with relevant safety standards and schematics
- Measure and cut materials accurately using hand tools and power tools
- Fabricate components as required for specialised fire door fittings
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations
- Assist with site preparation, including surface preparation and finishing works such as plastering or masonry if necessary
- Collaborate with other trades such as roofing, plumbing, electrical, or masonry teams when required for integrated projects
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times
- Use welding, carpentry, or construction painting skills as needed during remedial works
Experience
- Proven experience in carpentry, fabrication, or construction roles with a focus on door installation or remedial works
- Knowledge of fire door specifications, installation procedures, and relevant building regulations is desirable
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics
- Experience working on construction sites involving roofing, plumbing, electrical systems, plastering, masonry or general construction is advantageous
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately
- Previous experience in fire safety projects or remedial works is highly beneficial

Pay: £20.00-£30.00 per hour
