Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Lead Driver to oversee transportation operations within our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing logistics, supervising driver teams, and ensuring efficient delivery processes. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, warehouse operations, and process optimisation to support our organisational growth and operational excellence.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily transportation activities, ensuring timely delivery and collection of goods.
- Oversee the utilisation of transportation management systems (TMS), Warehouse Management System (WMS), and ERP systems to optimise routes and load planning.
- Manage shipping and receiving operations, including scheduling, documentation, and compliance with safety standards.
- Lead process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and maintaining high safety standards
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to ensure service level agreements are met or exceeded
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations during all transportation and warehouse activities.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on best practices in logistics, shipping & receiving, and warehouse management.
- Go out and help clear down rounds
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within a logistics or warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Good communication skills with the capacity to lead teams effectively and liaise with external partners.
- Valid driving licence suitable for operating company vehicles or lorries as required.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to transportation and warehousing environments is essential.
- Have experience in the multi drop parcel industry

Pay: £28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
