Job Summary
We are now looking for an experienced Buyer to work closely with our buyers, to maximise profitability by predicting and monitoring sales trends and accurately controlling stock levels. The ideal person will have worked in the DIY or FMCG sector.
You will be responsible for working with our suppliers in ensuring the supply and demand is being met, we are looking for a passion enthusiastic individual with great analytic and organisational skills.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Analysing every aspect of bestsellers, and ensuring that they are fully stocked and reaching their full potential
- Forecasting supply and demand to prevent overstocking & running out-of-stock
- Liaising with buyers & suppliers on repeat buys
- Maintaining a comprehensive library of appropriate data
- Controlling stock levels based on forecasts for the season
- Monitoring slow sellers and taking action to reduce prices or set promotions as necessary
- Meeting with suppliers and managing the distribution of stock, by negotiating cost prices, ordering stock, agreeing timescales and delivery dates
- Gathering information on customers' reactions to products
- Maintaining awareness of competitors' performance
Skills Required:
- 1 year experience as a buyer
- 1 year experience in Fast Moving Consumer Goods
- Strong analytical and numerical skills to understand sales figures
- The ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment and to quickly identify problems and recommend solutions
- Sound decision-making skills and the ability to plan and prioritise
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to understand what will appeal to customers
- Strong team working skills
- Computer literacy
- Ability to identify Trends and opportunities
