Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Restaurant Receptionist to join our team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and smooth operation at the front desk. This role involves managing reservations, greeting guests, and providing excellent customer service to enhance the overall dining experience. Prior experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is preferred, but full training will be provided for the right candidate. Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage their seating arrangements efficiently
- Handle reservations and walk-in enquiries via phone and in person
- Maintain an organised booking system and update guest records accurately
- Answer phone calls with professional phone etiquette, providing information about the restaurant’s services and specials
- Coordinate with the kitchen and service staff to ensure timely seating and service
- Manage guest queries or complaints courteously, striving to resolve issues promptly
- Assist with administrative tasks such as processing payments and maintaining cleanliness of the reception area
- Support other team members during busy periods to ensure smooth restaurant operations
Skills
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is desirable
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent phone etiquette
- Knowledge of guest services and a welcoming demeanour to create a positive first impression
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Organised with good time management skills to handle reservations and guest flow effectively
- Friendly, approachable personality with a professional attitude
- Basic knowledge of hotel or restaurant management systems is advantageous but not essential
