Secure Alarms has looked after fire and security systems across Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch and the wider south coast since 1979. We are NSI Gold, BAFE accredited, BSI Kitemark certified and SafeContractor approved. Our maintenance base is a big part of the business, and we are looking for a Service & Maintenance Engineer to help us look after it properly.
This role suits someone who enjoys the variety of service work. No two days look the same and you will be trusted to manage your own diary.
What you will be doing
Carrying out planned servicing and maintenance on fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, emergency lighting and fire extinguishers. Fault finding and repairs on a wide range of systems and panel types. Responding to call-outs and reactive works across the patch. Making sure systems are compliant, certificated and fit for purpose. Writing clear service reports and flagging anything that needs quoting for remedial or upgrade work. Building relationships with regular customers, many of whom have been with us for years.
What we are looking for
- At least 3 years' experience servicing and maintaining fire and security systems
- Strong fault finding ability across fire alarm and intruder systems
- Familiarity with CCTV and access control maintenance
- Good working knowledge of the relevant BS standards and what compliance actually requires
- Organised, with the ability to keep paperwork and certification accurate and on time
- Comfortable working alone in customers' homes and premises
- Full UK driving licence
- Able to pass BS7858 screening
