Head of Centre – Nursery

If you hold a BA in Childhood Practice (or are working towards it, hold a Level 3 qualification, or are willing to work towards the BA) and have a minimum of two years’ leadership experience in early years, this is an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your career.

Key Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the nursery, reporting directly to the Board of Directors
- Ensuring the highest standards of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care and education for all children
- Leading, supervising, and supporting staff in their daily roles
- Building strong and positive relationships with parents, staff, and the wider community
- Liaising with the local authority and other relevant professionals
- Coordinating trainee placements and supervising students in partnership with appropriate agencies
- Establishing and maintaining effective communication with external agencies
- Organising and leading meetings with the Board of Directors, management team, and staff
- Driving quality improvement across educational programmes and operational practices
- Ensuring a safe, secure, and compliant environment, meeting all regulatory requirements

- Resourceful, proactive, and confident in leading and motivating a team
- An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively
Qualifications and Experience
- BA in Childhood Practice or willingness to work towards this qualification as required by the SSSC
- Experience as a Nursery Manager, Depute Manager, or Senior Practitioner
- HNC or equivalent qualification
