Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of various roofing materials and techniques, along with the ability to work safely at heights. Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain roofing systems using a variety of materials such as tiles, shingles, metal sheets, and flat roofing membranes.
- Measure and cut materials accurately using hand tools and power tools.
- Prepare roof surfaces by removing old roofing materials and ensuring proper surface conditions for new installations.
- Work at heights on ladders, scaffolding, or roofs while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects within specified standards.
- Assist with related tasks such as carpentry, masonry, or minor plumbing work when required.
- Maintain a clean and organised work site, ensuring all tools and materials are stored safely after use.
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to minimise risks associated with roofing activities.
Experience
- Proven experience in roofing or related construction trades such as carpentry or masonry is preferred.
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment is essential.
- Knowledge of construction painting, plumbing, welding, electrical work, or general building practices is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications related to roofing projects.
- Prior experience working at heights and in outdoor environments is desirable.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team under tight deadlines.
