The Position
As an Installation Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering and installing diesel generator sets across a wide range of customer sites. Working predominantly out on the road, you will be responsible for the safe positioning, installation, and commissioning of equipment in diverse environments, including music festivals, sporting events, construction projects, and both private and public sector locations.
This is a hands‑on, field-based role requiring strong mechanical and electrical skills, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will ensure all installations are completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance, representing the business professionally on customer sites at all times.
The Role
- Manage the hire and return process of Rehlko generator sets for clients.
- Carry out planned service and maintenance on generator sets to ensure reliability and performance.
- Respond to breakdowns and malfunctions, minimising downtime for customers.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults on generator control panels, including replacements when required.
- Perform Load Banking and mains failure testing on-site, as per client requirements.
- Stay up to date with training and development to continually enhance technical expertise.
- Produce accurate, detailed reports and submit daily updates in line with company standards.
- Work closely with the internal service team to coordinate repairs, scheduling, and customer support.
The Person
- Time-served engineer or NVQ Level 3 qualified in a relevant discipline.
- Previous experience with generators is desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including engines and alternators.
- Willing to work overtime, including some mid-week, weekend shifts, and occasional overnight stays.
- Flexible to take part in an on-call rota when required.
- Confident in carrying out risk assessments and working safely on-site.
- Prior experience in a mobile engineering role is advantageous.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and dealing with a wide range of customers.
- Strong communication skills, both face-to-face and over the phone.

Pay: £16.00-£21.00 per hour
