Dental Hygienist / Therapist – 1–2 Days per Week
Sharples Dental – Bolton
We're looking for a confident and motivated Dental Hygienist/Therapist to join our dynamic, supportive team at Sharples Dental for 1–2 days per week.
Sharples Dental is a long-established mixed NHS/private practice that has recently undergone significant investment and modernisation under new ownership. Over the last few years we've expanded from 1 surgery to 3, with full refurbishment throughout, new equipment, and a growing private patient base. More importantly, we've built a genuinely supportive working environment with a long-standing team and a strong local reputation.
This role suits someone ambitious who wants to work to their full scope of practice in a setting where support is always close at hand. Whether you're already confident across hygiene, perio and restorative work, or keen to upskill into more restorative treatment, we'll back you to develop — with experienced dentists on site to mentor, discuss cases and support you.
What we're looking for
- A qualified Dental Hygienist/Therapist registered with the GDC
- Confident working under direct access and carrying out self-diagnosis
- Comfortable working independently and providing care without the need for a dentist's prescription
- Embraces their full scope of practice, with the skills and competence to treat patients directly
- Ambitious and keen to develop clinically, including into more restorative work
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
What we offer
- A welcoming, experienced team and modern working environment
- Experienced clinicians on hand whenever you need support
- A clear opportunity to upskill and take on more restorative work over time
- An established and growing patient base, with direct-access opportunities
- Recently refurbished surgeries with modern equipment and a digital workflow including intraoral scanning
- Ongoing professional development and genuine clinical support
- Flexibility where possible around childcare and work-life balance
- Opportunity to pick up additional days on an ad hoc basis if desired
About the practice
- Long-established practice with strong community goodwill and excellent online patient feedback
- Foundation Training (FD) practice with experience supporting and developing clinicians
- Friendly, stable team culture that patients and visitors consistently comment on
- Clinicians with interests in implants, restorative dentistry, endodontics and cosmetic treatments
- Growing private patient demand with increasing opportunities outside NHS dentistry
Join a practice that values your expertise, gives you the autonomy to thrive, and the room to grow into your full scope. We'd love to hear from you.
