Heritage is for everybody, and we are here for heritage.
Heritage lives in places and people, memories and stories, artefacts and traditions. It can connect us all to the past, and to each other. It can make us happier, strengthen every community, and help shape society for the better. Everybody should be able to enjoy the benefits it brings.
That's why, as a charity, we care for over a million objects and hundreds of historic sites in every part of England, from international icons to local treasures. And it's why we open them up, share their stories and find new ways for everybody to enjoy, learn, play and create.
Would you like to play a key role in connecting communities with some of London's most iconic historic sites? We are looking for someone who can build and maintain strong partnerships with local organisations, businesses and community groups, while recruiting, training and supporting volunteers, artists and freelancers to deliver an engaging programme of events, activities and community initiatives.
You'll help organise and promote workshops and community events, monitor and evaluate success against key performance indicators, manage budgets and support fundraising activities. Joining a team of Duty Managers, you'll contribute to the safe and effective operation of Marble Hill House & park by ensuring compliance with health, safety, fire and security requirements.
You will be based at Marble Hill House. As the community engagement expert for the territory you will provide advice and support to your colleagues based at London properties on community engagement which may require to you visit other sites and meet with partners and key stakeholders.
Our aim is to create opportunities to make heritage relevant, exciting and accessible to all, enabling millions of people to come closer together through their shared engagement with England's heritage. This role will support our mission by leading and developing initiatives that foster strong connections between the sites and their local communities. You will develop and deliver community engagement programmes and events that are engaging and relevant for our visitors, underrepresented audiences and local communities including sustaining the existing programme at Marble Hill. You will support the delivery of project-related community activity, such as for NLHF-funded projects and gather data so that we can more clearly demonstrate the value and social impact of our cause to our members, stakeholders, partners, funders and philanthropists. When necessary you will support free-to-enter and unstaffed sites.
We are looking for someone who can bring their excellent Community Engagement experience to our existing programme, providing excellent customer service and stakeholder management, as well as being able to work independently and part of the team. You will be able to demonstrate exceptional organisational skills and also be a confident communicator, having strong interpersonal skills with both visitors, volunteers, stakeholders and colleagues.
We would be delighted to hear from you, if you would like to talk to us about this role before you apply, please contact Jonathan McGloin, Marble Hill Manager via email, [email protected]
