Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 Tramper Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a curtainsider lorry on long-distance routes, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods across various locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in commercial driving and delivery operations to utilise their skills in a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Operate a curtainsider lorry on long-haul routes, adhering to all safety and traffic regulations
- Conduct pre-journey safety inspections of the vehicle and report any issues promptly
- Plan efficient delivery routes to meet schedules and optimise fuel consumption
- Load and unload goods with care, ensuring items are secured properly during transit
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse teams regarding delivery status and any delays
- Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment at all times
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly as a delivery driver or similar role
- Familiarity with curtainsider lorry operation and securing loads securely
- Previous experience with driving on long-distance routes is highly desirable
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) driving licence is essential
- Experience with delivery scheduling and route planning is advantageous
- Knowledge of health and safety standards related to commercial vehicle operation
