Senior Residential Support Worker – 2-Bed EBD Children's Home
We're looking for an experienced, compassionate, and motivated Senior Residential Support Worker to join our team in a 2-bed children's home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). As a Senior RSW, you'll lead by example, helping to create a safe, stable, and nurturing home while supporting the development of the staff team. Key Responsibilities
- Lead shifts and provide guidance and support to the staff team.
- Deliver high-quality, child-centred care in line with care plans and risk assessments.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people.
- Promote the safety, wellbeing, and emotional development of each child.
- Support with daily routines, education, appointments, and recreational activities.
- Encourage independence and help young people develop essential life skills.
- Complete and oversee high-quality documentation, reports, and daily records.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures, Ofsted regulations, and company policies are followed at all times.
- Respond confidently to challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support approaches.
- Work collaboratively with families, social workers, education providers, and other professionals.
- Support the induction, mentoring, and development of new and existing team members.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working in a children's residential setting, preferably supporting young people with EBD.
- Confident leading shifts and making decisions in the best interests of the children.
- A caring, resilient, and dependable individual with excellent communication skills.
- Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce (Residential Childcare) or equivalent is preferred, or a willingness to work towards the qualification.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- A full UK driving licence is desirable.
Shift Pattern & Requirements
- 2 on, 4 off shift pattern.
- 160 hours per month
- Average of 8–10 sleep-ins per month.
- Applicants must be aged 21 or over due to the nature of the role.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins as part of the rota.
