Dental Nurse – Specialist Orthodontic Practice (full training provided)
Poole Orthodontics is a specialist-led orthodontic practice in Broadstone, headed by Dr Bala Neelakantan (BDS, MDS Orthodontics, MFDS Glasgow, MSc, Advanced Implantology), a Specialist Orthodontist with over 18 years' experience. We're looking for a committed, patient-focused dental nurse to join our friendly clinical team — working four days a week, Tuesday to Friday, with one late finish until 19:00 on Thursday.
You don't need prior orthodontic experience. We provide full training and welcome both qualified general dental nurses keen to specialise and experienced orthodontic nurses.

Dr Neelakantan is an accredited trainer of Orthodontic Therapists and has personally trained more than 20 dental nurses. We actively fund and support career development, with structured opportunities (subject to suitability) including:
- Dental radiography training and certification
- Certificate in Orthodontic Nursing

- Treatment coordination
- IOTN and PAR scoring
- Digital dentistry – 3D intraoral scanning and model handling
- Invisalign / clear aligner workflows
- In-house retainer fabrication
- Progression into non-clinical and front-of-house leadership roles
What you'll be doing
- Four-handed chairside assistance during orthodontic procedures
- Preparing the surgery, instruments and materials for each patient
- Decontamination and infection control in line with HTM 01-05
- Maintaining accurate patient records
- Welcoming and reassuring patients of all ages, including children and anxious patients
- Supporting digital workflows as you train
About you
Essential:
- Registered with the GDC as a dental nurse, or in the final stages of a GDC-approved (NEBDN-recognised) course and working towards registration
- Right to work in the UK
- A warm, professional manner with patients of all ages
- Reliability, attention to detail and good teamwork
Desirable:
- Orthodontic experience (full training given if not)
- Dental radiography certificate
- Experience with intraoral scanning or digital workflows

Pre-employment requirements
An enhanced DBS check (our patients include children), evidence of Hepatitis B immunisation, professional indemnity and GDC registration are required before clinical duties begin.
