Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Management Accountant to join our finance team for the Gill Group. In this pivotal role, you will lead the preparation and analysis of financial reports, support strategic decision-making, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of management accounting processes. Your expertise will drive financial clarity across departments, facilitate budgeting and forecasting, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organisation. Duties
- Support the Finance team in meeting their objectives.
- Own the preparation and delivery of the monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet and supporting schedules) in line with internal deadlines.
- Maintain accounting records, reconciliations and supporting schedules throughout the year to ensure the Group's statutory accounts are accurate, complete and audit-ready at year end.
- Ensure ledger postings and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time to support preparation of the monthly management account.
- Provide support to the AR and AP ledgers when required.
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
- Reconcile monthly inter-company accounts.
- Support managers across the business with timely and accurate reports to facilitate business decisions.
- Provide insights to stock usage and lead annual stock takes.
- Lead the annual stock stake.
- Annual and ad-hoc review and update of standard costs.
- Prepare price lists and assist with the annual budgeting process
- Preparation of annual R&D tax claims.
- Work with the Business systems manager to maintain and improve the accuracy of the ERP system.
- Maintain and develop management reporting to provide key insights into operational activities.
- Partner with key stakeholders across all businesses to develop and implement operational change through innovative solutions whilst promoting best practices and maintaining internal controls.
- Regular review and maintenance of accounting systems to ensure accuracy of data and reports.
Qualifications
Experience and Qualifications
- Experience using Sage Line 50.
- Experience working with an ERP system.
- Experience using Power BI.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
- Good working knowledge of VAT.

Pay: £60,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
