JOB DESCRIPTION – PART-TIME DOG GROOMER
PAW ROOM is a calm, appointment-only dog grooming studio based in Acton. We focus on quality grooming, calm handling, and a positive experience for both dogs and their owners.
We are looking for an experienced, reliable Dog Groomer to join us on a part-time basis as we grow.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide high-quality dog grooming services including bathing, drying, trimming, and styling
- Confidently hand dry dogs (no crate drying)
- Groom 3–5 dogs per day comfortably and safely
- Assess coat condition and dog behaviour to determine appropriate grooming approach
- Ensure the safety, comfort, and welfare of dogs at all times
- Handle client enquiries, calls, WhatsApp messages, and appointment bookings on working days
- Encourage and secure rebooking before clients leave
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of grooming areas, tools, and equipment
- Follow salon policies regarding matting, behaviour, safety, and hygiene
- Capture photos and short videos of grooms (with client consent) for marketing purposes
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding grooming needs and aftercare
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2 years professional dog grooming experience
- Calm, patient handling style
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Reliable, organised, and professional
- Comfortable working independently in an appointment-only studio
WORKING HOURS
- Part-time to start (1-3 days per week)
- Days agreed in advance (weekends available)
- Opportunity to increase days as the business grows
PAY & BENEFITS
- £12.71 - £13.00 (experience dependent)
- Paid weekly or monthly
- All tips go directly to the groomer

IMPORTANT NOTES
- This is a calm, quality-first salon (not a high-volume or rush environment)
- Aggressive or unsafe dogs may be refused or stopped in line with salon policy
- Role subject to a trial period
Pay: £12.71 per hour
