We are looking for a motivated Healthcare Support Worker with excellent communication and clinical skills, who has the ability to work autonomously.
The post holder does not need to have relevant experience in health care but will need to have a proactive attitude to learning the skills required to fulfil the role.
If you are new to Health Care we will place you on a HCSW induction programme to ensure that you are fully trained and supported to perform the role. The programme will last for up to 6 months and during this period of training you will be paid a salary of 25272. On completion of your training period your salary will rise to 25760 as per the advert.
If you've worked as a Healthcare Assistant (HCA), your skills transfer directly as a Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) across mental and physical health

Main duties, tasks & skills required
- To supervise or assist patients with personal hygiene requirements including bathing when required.
- Following manual handling guidance to assist in the moving, mobilizing and positioning of patients who are physically infirm.
- To assist patients with toileting when required and in the maintenance of continence.
- Work in partnership with patients, encouraging independence in daily living skills.
- Carry out care plans under the supervision of a qualified nurse or therapist and inform staff of any change in the patient's condition.
- Respect patients as individuals, ensuring their privacy, dignity and individuality is maintained.
- To supervise or assist at mealtimes, feeding any patients who are unable to assist themselves and to report any eating difficulties to a trained nurse. Maintain food / fluid balance charts according to needs of the patient.
- To assist Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists as needed for effective rehabilitation of patients.
- To assist in admission procedures, transfers and discharge of patients including the safe keeping of a patient's property.
