Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Private Hire Taxi Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe, efficient, and courteous transportation services to our clients. This role requires excellent driving skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
- Safely operate private hire vehicles to transport passengers to various destinations within the city and surrounding areas
- Ensure timely pick-ups and drop-offs while maintaining high standards of customer service
- Assist passengers with luggage and provide helpful information about local attractions or routes when necessary
- Conduct routine vehicle checks and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle at all times
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during shifts
- Communicate effectively with dispatch or control centre regarding schedules, delays, or route changes
- Handle cash or electronic payments accurately when required
Experience
- Proven experience as a driver, preferably within commercial driving or delivery roles
- Valid driver’s licence suitable for private hire or taxi work (PERSON driver certification preferred)
- Experience in driving under various weather conditions and navigating busy urban environments
- Knowledge of local roads, routes, and traffic regulations
- Experience with vehicle maintenance and basic troubleshooting is advantageous
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with passengers and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting passengers with luggage or cargo
