Expert Payment Ltd is a growing card machine and payment technology provider based in Edinburgh, supplying and supporting merchants UK wide with till/POS installation, card machines, and merchant services.
The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Field Engineer to install, configure, and maintain tills and POS systems for our clients. You’ll be the face of the company on-site, so a professional, customer-friendly manner is essential — including spotting opportunities to upsell additional products and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot till and POS hardware/software at client sites
- Test systems post-installation to ensure full functionality
- Provide basic training to clients on using their new systems
- Identify and pursue light sales opportunities (upgrades, add-ons, accessories) during visits
- Maintain accurate records of installations, issues, and client interactions
- Travel to client sites Scotland wide, including longer journeys (2–4 hours’ drive) when required
- Carry and manage equipment/stock in your vehicle
Requirements
- Full, valid UK driving license (essential)
- Must have own car (essential) — car allowance provided
- Willingness to travel, including longer journeys (2–4 hours) when needed
- Experience with till/EPOS systems installation or IT hardware setup (preferred but not essential — training provided)
- Comfortable with basic technical troubleshooting
- Confident, personable manner with a natural ability to spot sales opportunities
- Good organisational skills and ability to work independently
- Fluent English (essential) — additional languages are a plus
- Right to work in the UK
