Associate / Contractor | Adults & Children | Flexible
About the Holistic ADHD Centre: https://theholisticadhdcentre.co.uk/
The Holistic ADHD Centre is a developing specialist neurodevelopmental service providing comprehensive ADHD and autism assessment and support for adults and children. The Centre is due to launch shortly and is part of a group of organisations, including the already eastablished ADHD Clinical Institute: https://adhdclinicalinstitute.co.uk/
Our aim is to provide more than a diagnosis.
We take a multidisciplinary and whole-person approach, considering developmental history, physical and mental health, psychological wellbeing, lifestyle, environment and other factors that may influence an individual's presentation and needs.
Research and innovation are also central to our longer-term vision. We want to develop a service that combines robust, evidence-based clinical practice with a genuine interest in improving how ADHD, autism and associated conditions are understood and supported.
We are now looking for an experienced Psychologist or Psychiatrist to join our clinical team on an initial associate/contractor basis.
The Role
You will become a key member of our multidisciplinary team, providing specialist psychological or psychiatric expertise within our ADHD and autism assessment pathways.
A core element of the role will be participation in MDT reviews, bringing together information gathered throughout the assessment process to support robust, evidence-based diagnostic decisions and personalised recommendations.
There will also be an opportunity to contribute to the clinical development and oversight of the wider service as the Holistic ADHD Centre grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in MDT reviews for ADHD and autism assessments.
- Provide specialist psychological or psychiatric input into diagnostic decision-making.
- Review clinical histories, developmental information, assessment findings and collateral evidence.
- Support the assessment of more complex or diagnostically uncertain cases.
- Consider differential diagnoses and relevant co-occurring physical, psychological, psychiatric and neurodevelopmental conditions.
- Where appropriate, undertake or contribute directly to ADHD and/or autism assessments.
- Provide proportionate clinical oversight and advice to the wider clinical team.
- Contribute to the development and review of clinical pathways, protocols and governance processes.
- Support high standards of clinical documentation, safeguarding and evidence-based practice.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals within the multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to service evaluation, research and quality-improvement initiatives where appropriate.
Our Assessment Approach
At the Holistic ADHD Centre, we believe that high-quality neurodevelopmental assessment should consider the individual as a whole and draw upon multiple sources of clinical information.
Our pathway broadly incorporates:
Initial screening and referral → comprehensive developmental and clinical history → validated assessment tools → collateral information → consideration of physical and mental health → specialist clinical assessment → MDT review → diagnostic formulation → personalised recommendations and ongoing support where appropriate.
The MDT provides an important opportunity to bring different professional perspectives together, particularly for complex presentations, differential diagnosis and co-occurring conditions.
Who We're Looking For
We would welcome applications from appropriately qualified and registered:
Psychologists with significant experience or interest in neurodevelopmental assessment;
or
Psychiatrists with experience or a strong specialist interest in ADHD, autism and neurodevelopmental conditions.
Ideally, you will have:
- Appropriate UK professional registration relevant to your profession.
- Good knowledge and experience of ADHD assessment and diagnosis.
- Experience working with adults and/or children and young people.
- Experience or good working knowledge of autism assessment.
- Strong clinical reasoning and differential diagnosis skills.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
- An understanding of common psychiatric, psychological and neurodevelopmental comorbidities.
- An interest in clinical governance and developing high-quality services.
Experience across both adult and paediatric populations would be particularly valuable, although applicants with significant expertise in either population are also encouraged to apply.
A Holistic & Research-Focused Service
What differentiates the Holistic ADHD Centre is our ambition to look beyond diagnosis alone.
We are interested in how factors such as sleep, nutrition, physical health, mental health, lifestyle, environment and psychological wellbeing interact with neurodevelopmental conditions and affect people's everyday lives.
We are also keen to develop meaningful clinical research and service evaluation as the Centre grows.
We therefore particularly welcome clinicians who are intellectually curious, research-minded and interested in helping develop better models of neurodevelopmental care — while maintaining a strong commitment to evidence-based clinical practice.
Working Arrangement
Contract: Associate / Self-employed Contractor
Working pattern: Flexible
Commitment: Flexible and to be agreed
Remuneration: Competitive and dependent upon experience and agreed responsibilities.
This is initilly a contractor/associate position, making it suitable for clinicians who may wish to combine the role with existing NHS, academic, independent or private practice commitments.
As the Holistic ADHD Centre develops, there may be opportunities for greater clinical involvement and leadership within the service.
