Night Team Coach (Driver with Business Insurance Required)
Hours: 40 per week (Night Shifts)
About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Night Team Coach to support our service in delivering high-quality, person-centred care. You will work with adults living with mental health needs, autism, and/or learning or physical disabilities.
This role focuses on empowering individuals to make their own choices, develop independence, and live fulfilling lives, while ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care in line with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and Health & Safety at Work legislation.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership, Coaching & Team Support
- Provide regular supervision, appraisal, and ongoing support to staff.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the night team, acting as a positive role model.
- Ensure staff are appropriately trained, competent, and supported in their roles.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, reflection, and professional development.
- Address performance concerns promptly through support plans, mentoring, and training.
- Maintain clear and effective communication, ensuring staff understand policies, procedures, and best practices.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all care and support plans, risk assessments, and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans are accurate, up to date, and person-centred.
- Maintain compliance with CQC standards, commissioners’ requirements, and company policies.
- Ensure all documentation is completed accurately, and in line with GDPR.
- Monitor medication practices, including stock checks and EMAR chart completion.
- Promote safeguarding by adhering to Adult Protection, Prevention of Abuse, and Whistleblowing policies.
Service Delivery & Support
- Lead shifts effectively, ensuring staff deliver care in line with individual care plans and rotas.
- Support individuals with decision-making, independence, and daily living needs.
- Ensure personal care and medication support is delivered safely, respectfully, and in line with individual preferences.
- Support individuals to build relationships, social networks, and independence within their homes and community.
- Work collaboratively with families, advocates, and professionals (e.g., social workers, CPNs, healthcare teams).
Health, Safety & Environment
- Ensure the safety and security of individuals, staff, and the premises at all times.
- Adhere to Health & Safety at Work legislation, reporting and escalating concerns appropriately.
- Follow and monitor fire safety procedures, including regular testing and documentation.
- Ensure all areas remain clean, safe, and welcoming.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date risk assessments.
Operational Responsibilities
- Provide on-call support as required on a rota basis.
- Ensure effective shift handovers and completion of all required records.
- Work flexibly, including weekends and bank holidays, to meet service needs.

Essential Requirements
- Proven leadership experience within a health or social care setting (mental health preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in developing and reviewing care/support plans and risk assessments.
- Knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory requirements.
- Competent IT skills for care systems and documentation.
- Ability to work night shifts and lead a team in a dynamic environment.
- Full UK driving licence with business insurance (essential).
