We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Residential Support Worker to join our Outstanding school residential team from 1st September 2026. This vital role involves providing high-quality care and support to children in a school residential setting, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and development.

This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young people's lives while developing your skills within a supportive organisation. The role involves working in a small team environment supporting pupils after school, during the evening and the following morning. During this time, you will be working with the children, encouraging and supporting them with their independence, communication, personal care, socialisation, healthy lifestyle, mental health and wellbeing and positive behaviour outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care and support to children in accordance with individual care plans, fostering their emotional and behavioural development
- Support children with daily activities, including personal care, education and socialisation
- Maintain a safe and secure environment by adhering to health and safety policies and procedures.
- Record accurate documentation of daily activities, incidents, and progress in accordance with organisational policies
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and supervision to continually enhance skills and knowledge
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable.
- Hold NVQ 3 in appropriate discipline (or recognised equivalent experience).
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and colleagues
- Knowledge of child development principles and care planning processes
- IT literacy for maintaining records and completing reports efficiently
- Compassionate nature with excellent organisational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Commitment to safeguarding practices and promoting the welfare of children

The role is 24 hours per week, term time only. The actual salary is £15,859 - £17,471 plus sleep in allowance of £43.12
The daily working hours will be 3 nights and 3 mornings across Monday – Thursday.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon/evening: 3pm - 8pm
Tuesday, Wednesday morning: 7am -9.30am
Thursday morning: 7am – 10am
Plus, one additional flexible hour per week for admin work.
There is an expectation of paid sleep in duties at least once per week.

Pay: £27,254.00-£30,024.00 per year
