Registered Nurse – Surgical Ward
Hale Private Clinic, Hale, Cheshire
Part-Time | 30 Hours per Week
Come and join our team at Hale Private Clinic
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our surgical ward team at Hale Private Clinic.
Located in the heart of Hale, we are an independent, modern surgical facility providing care across a growing range of specialties. Our focus is: safe surgery, excellent clinical standards and making sure every patient feels looked after throughout their time with us.
We are a relatively small hospital, and we see that as one of our strengths.
You won't be joining a huge organisation where you're simply another person on a rota. You'll work closely with our theatre team, consultants, anaesthetists and wider clinical team, caring for patients from admission through to discharge and getting to know the people you work alongside.
We're looking for someone who wants to become part of that team.
The Role
This is a part-time position working 30 hours per week within our surgical ward.
Our surgical activity varies throughout the week, so flexibility is important. We need someone who is comfortable working different days and adapting their hours around the needs of our theatre lists and patients.
You'll care for patients undergoing a range of day-case surgical procedures and will play an important role in making their experience at Hale safe, comfortable and personal.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming and admitting patients ahead of surgery
- Completing and reviewing pre-operative assessments and admission checks
- Delivering high-quality pre- and post-operative nursing care
- Monitoring patients following surgery
- Recognising deterioration and escalating clinical concerns appropriately
- Safe administration and management of medicines
- Supporting pain, nausea and post-operative symptom management
- Preparing patients for safe discharge
- Providing patients with clear discharge and aftercare information
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation
- Working closely with our consultants, anaesthetists, theatre and recovery teams
- Supporting infection prevention, clinical governance and patient safety
- Helping us continuously improve the way we care for our patients
Who We're Looking For
First and foremost, we want someone who cares about the standard of service they provide.
Our patients have chosen to have their treatment in a smaller independent hospital and understandably expect a high level of attention, professionalism and reassurance.
You'll need:
- Current NMC registration
- At least 3 years experience working within a surgical, acute or relevant ward environment
- Good clinical assessment skills
- Confidence caring for pre- and post-operative patients
- Good medicines-management knowledge
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work calmly and safely as part of a multidisciplinary team
- A professional, friendly and patient-focused approach
- Flexibility with working days and hours
Previous private healthcare or day-surgery experience would be useful, but it's not essential. We're much more interested in finding someone with the right clinical standards, attitude and approach to patient care.
What Is Different About Hale?
Hale Private Clinic is growing, and our surgical service is developing quickly.
We work with experienced consultants across a number of surgical specialties within our purpose-built surgical facilities, with a strong focus on safety, quality and personalised patient care.
Because we're a smaller team, people have the opportunity to make a real difference to how the hospital develops. We want our nurses to contribute ideas, challenge things when they can be better and take pride in the service we're building.
You'll be working alongside an experienced clinical team in an environment where people know each other, communication matters and good work is noticed.
