We are currently recruiting a Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team. The expectation of this role is that you will assist the Executive Housekeeper in the supervision of the housekeeping and laundry operation, ensuring that product quality standards are met and optimum service is provided to hotel guests according to hotel or company business objectives. This role will include a combination of early and late shifts and weekend cover.

As Housekeeping Supervisor, you will:
- Assign special duties eg. VIPs, spring cleaning to relevant staff
- Cove early, late and middle shifts on a rota basis and perform tasks related to opening and closing the daily housekeeping operation
- Have a hands on approach with the team and assist where necessary
- Checks vacant rooms promptly each morning and reports any discrepancies and queries
- Check each room daily on assigned floors to ensure it has been cleaned, laid out, supplied and presented to the required standard
- Supervise the work of maids and porters and to take immediate action in cases where standards are not being met
- Advise of any discrepancies requirements or changes that effect the management of the section
- Ensure that there are adequate supplies of linen, guest supplies and cleaning equipment on assigned floors at all times and according to par stocks
- Ensure that the linen rooms and storerooms are regularly cleaned and tidy at all times.
- Ensure that stocks and linen are properly used to prevent soilage, damage and waste
- Supervise the changing of any soft furnishings and any other upholstery in need of change, repair or cleaning
- Supervise the changing of any blankets, mattress protectors, pillows, shower curtains and mattress turning as and when required
- Responsible for preparing, allocating and following up and recording of spring cleaning schedules for their relevant floor and public areas
- Assist in carrying out inventories of linen and other items in guest rooms as directed by the Executive Housekeeper
- Handle guest requests, complaints courteously and promptly.
- Participate in the departmental goals programme as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper
- Work in conjunction with the Executive Housekeeper to implement training as and when required
- Monitor the progress of new and existing staff for training purposes and feedback information to the Executive Housekeeper
- Responsible for reporting any engineering faults on assigned floor to the maintenance department. Follow up on any reports, take further action if required
- Report any lost property, log and store correctly
Key Requirements:
You will be a positive, enthusiastic and resourceful individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills and a proven ability to plan, prioritise, multi task and self manage, without constant supervision. Flexibility, adaptability and attention to detail are also key requirements of the role.
Pay: £12.65-£15.07 per hour
