Brian Gow Roofing Supplies is a well established independent roofing supplies merchant with branches across Sussex. The company supplies roofing and building materials and related products to trade and commercial customers, focusing on reliable service, quality products and efficient distribution and we are looking for a full time Yard Operative for our branch at Lower Dicker, Hailsham, East Sussex, BN27 4EL.
Main Duties and responsibilities
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the daily yard operations, maintaining high standards at all times under the supervision of our Branch Manager.
Your role will include, but not limited to:
- Keeping the yard clean, tidy and well organised.
- Unloading of delivery vehicles.
- Loading of our vehicles.
- Sorting materials.
Our ideal candidate would meet the following criteria:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
- Self-motivated.
- A team player that can work both independently and as part of a team.
- A forklift licence would be desirable but not essential (training will be provided after a probationary period)

Please note, this is a manual job, and you will be required to work in all weather conditions, both outdoors and indoors.
The role is based at our Lower Dicker branch (BN27 4EL) and you will therefore need your own transport to reach the depot.
You may be required to work from our other locations with prior notice.
Full training in all aspects of the role will be provided.
