This is a 6-month contract role with a local authority, designed to support the communication of the Council's priorities, services, and achievements while protecting and enhancing the Council’s reputation. The Communications and Public Affairs Officer will play a crucial role in developing and delivering corporate communications, marketing campaigns, media relations, stakeholder engagement, and public affairs activities across various channels.

Support the development and implementation of the Council's communications and public affairs strategies.

Deliver effective internal and external communications campaigns using a range of channels and platforms.

Produce high-quality communication materials, including press releases, briefings, newsletters, reports, presentations, and digital content.

Ensure all communications are clear, accurate, accessible, and aligned with corporate objectives.

Promote and protect the Council's brand, ensuring consistency across all communications.

Experience working in a communications, marketing, public relations, or public affairs role.

Experience planning and delivering communication campaigns across multiple channels.

Experience in media relations and stakeholder engagement.

Experience in project management within a communications environment.

Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent experience.

Relevant qualification in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Media, or a related discipline, or significant equivalent experience.

Location: Dudley (Hybrid – 3 days on-site or as required at short notice)
