Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Class 1 Tipper Driver based in March, Cambridgeshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a 44 tonne Grain tipper lorry to transport materials efficiently and safely across various locations. This role requires a professional driver with experience in commercial driving, delivering high standards of safety and customer service. Duties
- Operate HGV Class 1 tipper lorries to transport materials to designated mills and sites across Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on time, adhering to schedules and routes
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, maintaining safety standards at all times
- Assist with loading and unloading materials, ensuring proper handling and securement of loads
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance reports
- Follow all relevant health and safety regulations, including compliance with road traffic laws and company policies
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during journeys
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with delivery driver experience tipper vehicles
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record points will be considered.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for operating large vehicles
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading/unloading and securing loads safely
- Excellent organisational skills to manage routes efficiently and meet deadlines
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients, dispatchers, and team members
- Knowledge of the local area and farms around Cambridgeshire etc is advantageous
